Niki Hare mural published by Area Environments“The world is paused, broken down into layers, shuffled, pushed back together and sent on its way. Nothing is static, there is a sense of the temporary, imbalance, discomfort.”

Niki Hare is a self-taught artist with a unique view of the world and a career that has really taken off over the last couple of years.

Following recognition by Saatchi Art as 'One to Watch',
Niki was contacted by a US design company with a request to publish her work as very large wall art murals.

Niki approached Formatrix to produce the high resolution scans and a dialogue was set up with her client through which the details for the requirement were established, involving finished files of 11000+ pixels - without interpolation.

Niki Hare repeat pattern mural published by Area EnvironmentsThe resulting large format digital scanback copy session at the studio in Prospect Park, Exeter, called for captures in two halves for each original image, in order to achieve the very high resolution required. The final captures were profiled and optimised for colour and contrast then merged back into complete images. Initial unsharpmasking was added as a final stage ready for large format print production in the US.

Niki's client Area Environments was delighted with the results and has subsequently gained an award for 'best product of 2014' for one of her murals at a high profile trade show in the States.

Niki's striking murals now liven up the walls of a number of cool venues including Manhattan bars and chic restaurants.
