Project : Enhanced Giclée Prints

Acrylic enhancement on canvas giclée print "The style of my pieces is photography twisted with my imagination into a Digital Art form.... My goal is to make them look as if they are coming to life in different dimensions."

Inspired by pop art and surrealism, Canadian-born, Paris based Stephanie Mackenzie first came to public attention when she won the Photo Life Magazine International Digital Photography Award in 2004. Since then she has had a series of highly successful shows in New York, London and Paris.

We have been delighted to work under Stephanie's direction to achieve the precise level of contrast and saturation envisaged for each image. The resulting canvas giclée prints are stretched and supplied with outer tray frames ready for the final enhancement stage.

Stephanie's work involves a multi-disciplined technique which combines both photographic development and acrylic embellishment to help build the multi-textured and luminous final product. The process of creating each piece is complex. Models, costumes, lighting, set and storyboards are important in the early stages of building the idea. Digital technology is then used to create the composite images. After the art is printed on canvas and stretched , Stephanie hand-embellishes each piece with acrylic paint and gel mediums.

Canvas giclée print in inlay frame, Queen 1 - Stephanie MavkenzieAs each giclée print was to evolve into a bespoke piece, Stephanie needed the finished work to have similar longevity to that expected of an original work of art. We were able to reassure her that our fine art giclée prints are produced to high conservation standards, incorporating fade resistant pigments, acid and OBA free canvas and ph neutral, solvent free varnish which affords a high level of UV protection.

On viewing the finished piece, the senses are gripped by bold saturated colours interwoven within complex layers and textures.
